DMCA Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
SpotiStash respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). This page explains how to report copyright concerns and how we respond to valid takedown notices.
Important: What SpotiStash Does & Does Not Do
SpotiStash is a metadata identification service. We do not host, store, rip, record, or directly access audio content from Spotify. Spotify URLs provided by users are processed only to identify publicly available metadata — such as track title, artist name, album, release year, and cover art. Audio content delivered through SpotiStash is sourced from independent third-party services, not from Spotify’s servers.
Because we do not host audio files, takedown requests should typically be directed to the third-party services hosting the original content. However, if you believe content referenced through SpotiStash infringes your copyright, you may submit a formal notice using the procedure below.
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
To file a valid takedown notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include the following information:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including the specific Spotify URL or reference on SpotiStash.
- Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
Where to Send Your Notice
DMCA takedown notices should be sent via email to our designated agent:
Please include “DMCA Takedown Notice” in the subject line.
We aim to respond to all valid notices within 5 business days. Incomplete or invalid notices may be ignored without notification.
Counter-Notice Procedure
If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. Your counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, address, telephone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.
Repeat Infringer Policy
SpotiStash maintains a policy of terminating access for users who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyright. We reserve the right to take any other action we deem appropriate to deter or prevent copyright infringement.
False Claims
Please be aware that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. Do not file false claims.
